Trey & Rena Southern

Trey and Rena Southern joined the Caballo Family in January of 2024. They met in a church small group in 2015, began seeing each other in January of 2016, and were married in Clovis, NM January 21, 2017. Trey and Rena share a passion for spreading the message of the gospel and have served as Youth and Children’s Pastors in local church as well as serving as short term missionaries in Mexico, Germany, and Iraq. Trey, a New Mexico native, has also served as a missionary in the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Hong Kong, and China. He was born in Las Cruces and grew up team roping all over the Southwest Region, earning scholarships to NMJC in Hobbs and ENMU in Portales where he qualified to the College National Finals Rodeo in 2012 and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in History and Religious Studies. Rena grew up in Clovis where she competed in volleyball, basketball, and track before graduating from Clovis Christian School and going to College at ENMU where she earned her degree in Early Childhood Education. After their time as ministers in the local church, the Southerns spent time farming and ranching in East TX, and they were later called back into the mission field, this time closer to home. They sold all of their belongings and bought a motorhome and started Saddle House Cowboy Ministries and have been traveling all over Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona since the end of 2022; taking the gospel to the cowboy world, providing church services at rodeos, team ropings, horse shows, and anywhere else they can find an open door. The Southern crew includes 2 wonderful boys, Tyler Cole who will be 4 in June and Warren Blue who turned 2 in March. They are still expanding and just welcomed their baby girl, Maycee Belle!
